For myself, self-care has become something I have now needed to become more aware of. When I was in college, I think the environment in school naturally takes care of this piece for you, when I was full-time & on campus at least. But I was a transfer student, so this wasn't always the case, and certainly isn't now.
So what is self-care for you?
Self-care plays off of your likes, passions and wants. While I think all can benefit from reading (really any type of reading), it may not be a part of your self-care if it is not something that interests or relaxes you. So take a minute & think about yourself, what are some of your top wants and likes?

For myself, I love to be outdoors, writing, coffee, the sounds of the beach and crafting. So I may go for a walk, read a book, sit at the bar for breakfast alone and drink my coffee or a cute coffee shop, sit out on the beach while reading a book even, and I even bought one of those adult coloring books and colored pencils (they look very adult like, haha) and will do that from time to time. Journaling is another thing I may do while I put a face mask on or take a long bath. Some of these things may work for you too, or you try it and never do it again lol.
You have to take time to get to know yourself in order to know how to take care of yourself too.
The point is to just be alone with yourself and hear your own thoughts and not deep in any conversation with anyone, not even your phone ( I know, crazy right!?). GASP!
Put it down and focus on you or whatever it is around you. Absorb the whole moment of whatever it is you are doing. If you do not like your company, why would anyone else? Not saying that your company is not enjoyable, but really think about what makes you... YOU. Know your likes and dislikes. And well the only way to really know those things, is to try them out.
