The “Plague” Months

Updated: Jan 23, 2019

What to do when no one is hiring...

November & December are the hardest time to make a job change because few are hiring.

During this time, most companies are reviewing the year that has passed, cramming work between holidays and out of money in the budget. Not to mention, trying to plan for all the holiday time off applicants will likely want, employers may rather to just hold off until the new year.

So take advantage of the season and prepare yourself for the new year when there is new sound budget money, holidays have passed and there are all new goals for the next twelve months.

Try a few of the following when you are ready for some change, looking to get back out there or just because. They will help pass the time AND look nice on your new resume...

ree

  • Volunteer locally

  • Update your resume

  • Go to networking events

  • Attend seminars or conferences on a subject you would like to know more about

  • Analyze your current position (be grateful it is there) and see what you can change for the good

  • Take a vacation (they are hard to take when you land a new job sometimes)

  • Evaluate yourself - the good and bad

  • Teach something

  • Create a vision board

The possibilities are endless really. It just depends on where you are and where you want to be. Do things that can get you there. Meet people who have done it. Collaborate with those who are on a similar road.

Make the most of your time now. Enjoy the process.

Much Success,
